Course Q&A

Q: I took the Pinterest Masterclass offered by Shelly and Heather in December 2018. Is this different?
A: The looping portion of this course is largely the same material covered in 2018. However, this time Heather walks through how to start TWO looping accounts from scratch. You see videos walking through the entire looping process for an elementary teacher and then are walked through the entire process for a Speech Language Pathologist, who also does photography work. This way you can get a feel for two accounts. Plus you’ll have access to this course for its life, whereas the masterclass was only available for six months. An additional bonus is that you can skip around to exactly what information you need via the 21 videos, rather than having to rewind the one live video that was done in 2018. Plus this course also includes videos for using the traditional Tailwind queue where the masterclass focused only on looping. 

Q: I’ve heard that Tailwind SmartLoops can drastically lower overall Pinterest views. Is this true?
A: There are a lot of factors that go into your Pinterest views, so there is no “easy” answer to this question. Heather set up looping on her personal TpT account in November 2018 and kept it running through January 2020. While her views fluctuated, she did not see a direct correlation between looping and her Pinterest monthly viewers. Plus her 2019 sales were up 44% over 2018. But Heather did go back to traditional Tailwind queue scheduling in February 2020, so this course walks you through both options to choose which ones works best for your time and current business goals. 

Q: Do I need to have a Tailwind subscription for this course to work for me?
A: Yes. You will need to purchase your own Tailwind subscription. You can use this affiliate link to get one month free if you are new to Tailwind (https://www.tailwindapp.com/i/hojostptstore). You also need to upgrade to have looping access if you plan to utilize the looping part of the course. 

Q: Time is short. How long will this course take?
A: You can sit down and complete this entire course in one sitting, if you'd like. Watching all the videos and reading through the course material will take less than five hours.

Q: How long will I have access to the course once I purchase?
A: You have access for the life of the course! Simply log into the course platform and resume where you left off. This means you can work slowly over the summer, during naptime each day, or after the kids go to bed at night. There’s no rush! Keep in mind, though, the sooner you start making the most of your Tailwind subscription, the sooner you can expect to see results. 

Q: Is Tailwind looping a "set it and forget it" strategy for Pinterest? 
A: No. While looping does ease some of the Pinterest stress by allowing you to set your loops up to do the bulk of the work, you cannot just forget your Pinterest account exists. Ideally you will update your loops about once a quarter, and you should add new content into the loops regularly. If you are looking for a way to “set it and forget it”, this is probably not the course for you.

Q: Will this course be updated? I know I have access for the lifetime of the course, but I want to make sure I get up-to-date information.
A: YES! Through 2019, Heather has managed over 20 different Pinterest accounts for TpT sellers via Tailwind looping. She has access to more Tailwind looping information and data than the average TpTer due to this. Her pinning strategy has largely stayed the same since 2017, other than the transition of all her clients’ accounts to looping. Any changes she makes to her strategy will be updated and reflected here for the life of the course. And in January 2020 Heather made the switch on her personal account back to using the traditional Tailwind queue, which is reflected in the first round of updates to this course! 

Q: I don't have a blog. Will the information in this course be beneficial to me if I only have a TpT store?
A: Yes! Anyone with a Pinterest account can benefit from Tailwind looping.

Q: I'm concerned about the cost. Will it really be worth it?
A: Heather has spent a significant amount of time learning about Pinterest, directly working with over 65 TpT sellers on their Tailwind accounts, and developing her skills on Pinterest. In this course, she will be sharing the same tips and information she has used to effectively drive more traffic to her own site and store. When you consider that many virtual assistants use this same information to help optimize their own clients' pins, this course is MORE than worth the investment. Other Pinterest courses are at least double the cost of this helpful course.

Heather Jo Whetham-Fergen

Heather Jo Whetham-Fergen is a lifetime educator. She spent seven years teaching in various elementary classrooms across the state of South Dakota teaching grades preK-6. Heather then became an elementary principal and K-12 special education director before deciding to stay home with her children, while continuing her passion for education online.During her time teaching in public schools, Heather also started her TpT store – where she dabbled and used the extra money to help pay down her student loans more quickly. Upon deciding to stay home with her kids, Heather quickly realized the power of online marketing. This helped her build a strong virtual assistant and consulting business, plus grow her own TpT store and blog. Heather loves to take courses, read all the blogs, and learn more about online business. She also loves sharing this knowledge with other teacherpreneurs to help them grow and improve their own businesses.
